"Children with poor oral health may suffer pain and infection resulting in sleeping problems, finding eating hard, and present difficulties with playing and socialising" (PHE, 2020).
“Oral health is a key indicator of overall health, well-being and quality of life” (World Health Organisation).
Tooth decay is a preventable disease yet is the most common oral disease impacting children and young people in England. At Rothesay Nursery School we are committed to working towards improving oral health in all children.
Staff are trained in supervising the LiveSmart Toothbrushing Programme through the Dental Wellness Trust.
The children at Rothesay brush their teeth daily whilst at Nursery. (Parental consent is obtained before children participate in daily toothbrushing.)
If you need support with teeth brushing at home then please talk to a member of staff.
